If your piggy has mange take it to a vet. The Cambridge Cavy Trust, CCT,
recommends if your cavy is less than 3 months old to give it orally 0.05
ml of 1.0% Ivermectin for injection. Repeat this dose in 10 days. If
your cavy is 3 months or older The CCT recommends to give orally 0.1 ml
of 1.0% Ivermectin for injection and repeat in 10 days. Regardless of
your piggy's age he should also be given a single dose orally 0.4 ml
2.5% Panacur = fenbendazole or 0.4 ml 2.5% Valbazen = albendazole. The
dose is based on metabolic rate not on body weight and is 10 mg of
either of these drugs. There is a more detailed discussion of treating
parasites in cavies at my web page
http://piggyville.com/index.php?id=9. I am not a vet but I volunteer as
a cavy health advisor for Dr. Frank Bonsack DVM of the Adventure Animal
Hospital in Tampa Florida.
