I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this with your dear ones. You and they have my earnest prayers. I hope you're doing thorough hand washing (maybe with a sanitizer) after handling them to make sure it doesn't spread. It wouldn't do for you to become infected or for the disease to spread further amongst the piggies.
 
Have you tried hot compresses with epsom salts? Steamy heat sure helps me with infected wounds. The ichthammol (coal tar) you used is good, too, though stinky and messy. But who cares about mess when it might help? If you do use compresses, it'll need to be as hot as tolerable for about ten to fifteen minutes, maybe three times a day. I'd sterilize the towels in an 8% chlorox solutionafterwards or throw them away.
 
I hope the vet can quickly shed some light on Joey's pain and help him to feel better right away, and, of course, help Sooty with his infection as well. Please keep us up to date on their condition, and let us know how you're holding up.
