Dear Jean,

I was so sad to read about Ariel's passing --- I think we all know what it's like to have to say goodbye to one of those special ones who really gets inside your heart.  And what a tragically short time you had with her; it's just cruel that she should be gone so soon.  I know you gave her a wonderful life and showered her with love for the time you were together --- like they say, the quality of a life should be measured in depth not in length, but I can imagine how you heart is aching right now, and I am so very sorry.  I hope you can take comfort in the thought that she was so cherished for her entire life and never had to suffer a minute of hardship or neglect.

I know we are all hoping and praying that Lazarus comes through his surgery with flying colours and is back home safe and sound very soon ----
