Oh gosh Julie, i just posted congrats on Sooty's health........
It always seems to happen doesn't it :o(
When Onyx had a hay burr in her eye i took it out and bathed it with
cooled water, but took her to the vets.  They gave her some cream i had
to put in her eye twice a day, for about 7 days.  I'd give your lovely
vet a call and see if they can organise something like this for Sooty.
