[Gpdd] [HEALTH] Batman's vet visit and Guido's worms

Hi Sandy and Sammy,

The vet thought the pin worms were secondary, and that he had a URI that he
just couldn't fight off due to the pin worms. I think that plus his sore leg
probably just made it all more difficult for him.

I had read Ann's information and printed it off, but left it in the truck
when we went in to the vet. Next time I go in (since I seem to be going a
lot lately, for one animal or another) I will ask about the ivermectin and
mention the liquid Panacur. I will try to remember the printouts I have made
for the vet, as well - one from GuineaLynx about the rural emergency care
kit and the one from Ann's web site about the deworming. I am hoping to get
some things from the vet so that I can have an emergency care kit (with
medication to be administered only after speaking to the vet on the phone,
of course) since we are half an hour away from the vet's (at least; so much
depends on traffic, and then there's the whole appointment problem - at
least my vet clinic has emergency vet care available until 10.00 p.m. and on
Sundays even though the clinic isn't open) and in the country. If one of our
animals falls ill in the middle of winter, I may not even be able to go into
the city at all, depending on the snow situation! (It's not uncommon to be
snowed in due to the drifts across the gravel roads.)
