This is what Brendan meant when he said that Velvet was not missing any
hair.

When a sow has ovarian cysts, a common indicator ( apart from the boarish
behaviour ) is that she will lose hair on both flanks. It does not always
happen. My Lady Lavender didn't lose any hair at all and her ovarian cyst
was a very tough one, which would not disperse upon manipulation as they
usually do. She needed a course of HCG to make it shrink away to nothing.
This requires an injection followed by another a month later. Sometimes a
third is needed. No surgery required.

HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It's a hormone.
