Hi all,

I have to agree with Audrey some piggies wheek, some don't...

Just a short story about my Guiny.
Guiny soon became the leader of my herd (that was only Lotje and her at the
time) after joining. She was very talkative as that she made the little
chutting noises when walking around, she purred and all, but she did not
wheek.

I had her for 5,5 years and until a few months before her death she never
wheeked. But all of a sudden she seemed to feel the need to wheek, only as
she hadn't used her loud wheeking voice for 5 years she hardly made a sound
when wheeking. She sounded very hoarse when wheeking. I never did find out
why all of a sudden she decided to start to wheek. Maybe it was because of
the loss of her life time cage mate Lotje, I don't know. She did already
have another mate Dunya, but Dunya did not wheek often.
Guiny was deaf (or at least hard hearing), but I have no idea if that
contributed to the fact she never wheeked for most of her life?

We were really amazed at her sudden attempts to wheek!

I think it really depends on the piggy wether they wheek (often) or not at
all...

Welcome to Tundra, and nice having you back!
