Anneli,  this sounds like some deep Karma, your spirit needed a piggie and
this piggie really needed you I am so happy you found each other.  I have to
agree this guy should be reported if your laws will do anything. Otherwise
another method might work. Is PETA active where you live?  In any case I am
sure this new piggies old memories are sliding away as he snuggles into you
happy home.
