[Gpdd] Health: Update on Hemi's Lumps

Hi everyone.  Just wanted to provide an update on Hemi's lumps.  I found a vet 
in the state of NY 1 1/2 hours away that specializes in guinea pigs.  He even 
owns a few!  So, last Monday we went for a visit with Hemi.  He spent an hour 
with us...talking about guinea pigs in general, their health, what Hemi eats, 
his cage, etc.  Very nice vet!  He took a needle sample from Hemi's lumps and 
sent it to a lab for a biopsy.  On Thursday, he called with the results...fatty 
tissue.  The vet and I are going to watch the lump very carefully to see if it 
changes at all but for now, I'm thanking God that my piggie is ok.  The drive 
along stressed him a little...but we're going to be making that trip whenever 
necessary (at least yearly) as this is our new vet for Hemi. 
 
Thanks to everyone for your responses about Hemi's lumps.  I've read and re-read 
all of your emails (and even brought them to my new vet.)  Thanks for all of the 
information!  It's all filed in a folder in case I ever need to refer to it 
again some day! 
 
I'm sorry to hear of the little lost piggies that have crossed the rainbow 
bridge lately!  I know how much our babies mean to us and my heart goes out to 
you.  Praying that time will heal your broken hearts and that your fond memories 
of your babies will remain with you always!
