Carol-
Hi! Several things came to mind when I read your post. 1st: a Vit.C deficiency. Do you give him any supplemented Vit.C tablets or any other form of Vit.C besides what he gets from his food? I would start that ASAP.
2nd thing: a possible stroke. I will not claim to know much about guinea pigs & strokes but if they can cause paralysis in people then I would imagine a stroke could cause it in a piggie too. 3rd: an injury. Just because you didn't see him get injured doesn't mean it couldn't have happened somehow. 4th & final: I suppose arthritis is possible but he's awful young. Definitely get him to a vet ASAP. Why does this stuff always happen on a weekend or holiday?!? Make sure he stays clean underneath. You may need to wash off & dry his backend & undercarriage to avoid urine scald & just to keep him clean since he will probably lay in his own waste since he can't move. Sorry to overwhelm with so much info but I'm just trying to cover all the possibilities I could think of. Let us know how he gets on.
Obligatory disclaimer: I am not a vet just someone with many years of piggie experience.
