Hi gp lovers,

Dewey our 3 year old gp has been off his food and whimpering from time to
time during the day.

He's had a couple of courses of antibiotics and his diet is now hays,
critical and Oxbow pellets.

The vet who looked after him over the weekend is starting to wonder if he
has a hairball as his stomach doesn't seem to reduce in size between the
critical care feedings.

He did have an x-ray and ultrasound initially - his lungs were clear and
there were no bladder stones. He did have a lot of gas in his tummy so the
ultrasound didn't investigate his stomach.

Is there a way to diagnose hairball without surgery? Is there a treatment?

Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Caroline, Geoff, Dewey & Rosie.
