Dear Corrine,    I am so very sorry about Twinkle, another baby gone is so
very hard, and I know how grieved you are. Did the vet say what the lump was
or what made her sick" One thing I might suggest is that you train your
piggies from an early age or even now with the piggies, you have to eat from
a syringe. I am so grieved that you lack decent vets too. Mix water with
banana so it's very runny, ore use diluted orange juice or cranberry juice
(100% cranberry, not those ones where the main ingredients are grape and
apple juice. Avoid juices with added sugar, esp. corn syrup. My piggies look
at a syringe and come running for it. They might not like it at first but
just after them gently and they will get the idea. After they are used to
it, add a very thin mix of critical care. Later you can make a thicker mix
and use a spoon. You can use the blender with cucumbers and a little water,
and watermelon and cantaloupe. You can start adding their anti-parasite meds
to the syringe along with their favorite syringe foods so finally when they
get sick they will be ready to be treated and actually tolerate it well if
not love it. There are larger syringes for food, and then add the parasite
meds measured in the very small syringes. I have done this with over 30
piggies and they all learn, some better than others, just be very patient as
you teach them. 

 

I am sorry I didn't respond right away; in fact, I didn't receive any of
your messages this month, I responded to the ones Mark Moss posted.

When his condolences were posted I went to archives, and compared them to my
inbox and deleted items and the difference is that it is only your messages
that aren't getting to me. I find that odd to say the least. So if you want
to see an email you might want to copy me separately. 

 

My deepest condolences to you and Michael and I do believe someday you will
be reunited.
