I only recently discovered that asparagus is part of the often poisonous lily family. For around 20 years I've been feeding my girls asparagus bottoms with no ill affect. I don't know about the tops. I usually slice a three-inch piece lengthwise into 3 slices. Each piggie gets one asparagus three-inch serving. So far, so good! I know avocados are toxic as are onions and garlic and chocolate or grain-based food like corn. I hope that helps!
