[Gpdd] MISC: New pig & Clover check-up

I don't think I've posted since Clover had the follow-up for her "ankle
break." The vet said it did look a bit better, but it is too early for a
follow-up x-ray. She just gave me some more Metacam to use as needed and
sent us on our way. We encountered another "pig" owner in the waiting room
who proceeded to tell me Clover wasn't a real pig. We were rather happy
about this as we had to listen to this foul-tempered, full-size pot bellied
pig squeal incessantly, she was not a happy camper and extremely loud! My
vet was very frazzled after having had 2 unhappy pot-bellied pigs in the
office for a long period of time that day. Oh the joys of a visit to an
exotics vet.

Other good news to report is I have tried again on adoption of a cage-mate
for Clover and so far it seems to have worked. There was some initial minor
fighting but they seem happy now. I have named her Cresta, and she is a
young crested pig. I'm not sure how old she is, I got her from a wildlife
rescue. She is not a baby but I think she might be less than a year; she
looks as though she will fill out more. She is an excellent eater and a
nice pig, she is already much better tempered interacting with Clover than
the other pig. It looks to me like she is fine with Clover being dominant,
which I think was the problem before. I have never had a crested pig
before, and I'm surprised she sheds as much as she does with such short
fur.
