[Gpdd] Health: worming guinea pigs - used to be: elderly piggy loosing weight

I checked with my vet how they think about worming guinea pigs and they
prefer to give stronghold,
which I think is really quite expensive, plus it is given behind the ears
if I am not mistaken.
And when Ann says she found out with doing research that guinea pigs do not
absorb drugs through their skin well, I trust her. The active substance in
stronghold is selamectine.

I was searching online and I think Ivermectine (ivomec) and Panacur are
really given for different types of worms...
Panacur is definetely used for worming, Ivomec is also given for Mites and
other parasites like lice, and another type of worm. Maybe Ann can tell me
this is true?

I think I will just order the meds online.
Has anyone of you heard of or experience with Iverquantel? It is a mix of
0,4 mg Ivermectine and 20 mg Praziquantel. The last one should be similar
to Panacur (fenbendazole). Dosage should be 0,5 ml per kilogram of piggy
weight.

Thanks to everyone who answer my questions, both on the list and off list.

p.s. We just weighed Woopy, and she is still the same weight as 2 weeks ago!
