Dear piggy list members and Sandra,

I just wanted to let you know that after a delay of 4 days, the daktarin
that Sandy sent me finally arrived today. It was kind of funny how it
happened once it showed up... I had spent this morning at the heart doctor's
office having some different tests run. I was gone for about 4 hours so
decided to let Callie stay in with Eve because I know they miss being
together and I already know that Callie is pooping, eatiing and drinking
properly. Well, eating not so much but she is eating some veggies and her
pellets. At any rate, she was in the pen with Eve. When we pulled into the
driveway, Earl went to the mailbox and I waited in the van until he got
badck to the porch because it was cold as heck and we were having a slight
bit of snow. When he got to my door and opened it, he started to ask me....
"Are you expecting a package from someone named Sandra..." before he could
get any further, I jumped out of the van, shoutted "That's it!!" and we both
took off for the porch and the front door. As we went in the house, he was
prying the package open and I was giving him instructions on how we were to
use it. As he went into the kitchen (which doubles as a bpiggy treatment
center here), I headed for the pig's room to scoop up Callie. It was all
very much like a scened from some dramatic medical show. The transplant
organ has finally arrived and it is a mad rush to the operating room! So,
Callie got her first dose of daktarin and hopefully, that is the beginning
of healing whatever is causing her not to gain weight. She is not dropping
much and not on a regular basis so I am hoping this will be the answer.
Many thanks to all of you who have been so supportive and a special thanks
to Sandy for sending me the daktarin posthaste for Callie.

Now, it's a waiting game to see how she does. The instructions I have from
Ann have her taking it on a 3 week regiment. I have also ordered some test
strips to test her urine for a UTI after she finishes her Baytril. I defy
any human mother to tell me I don't know how it feels to have a sick child
and to feel helpless to know what to do. I think we feel something either
exactly like it or pretty darned close to it. Those of us who don't have
human children love these furbabies like they are our children.

More news to follow as it becomes available.

Hugs, love and whisker kisses,
ynn, Callie & Eve with Sammy, Tabby and Penny the guide dog at the bridge
and in our hearts and memories.

P.S. Callie was definitely *NOT* impressed with the taste of the daktarin!
LOL
