Dear Cindy and Eddie,

It was almost as much a shock for me to read that you have lost Ethan as it
must have been for you to find him so ill.

Only the other day, we were admiring his Holiday pigture on our blog and
now little Eddie is alone. That will be a photo to treasure.

What could you have done with your vet being closed and, presumably, no
emergency vet on duty?

We have had similar occurrences over the years. A piggy eats a hearty
supper, clears up his/her late night snack ( I always give every piggy a
slice of something before I go to bed ) and then, in the morning, they have
left for the Rainbow Bridge. I know that it is said that they hide illness
well but sometimes this is not the case and their passing comes upon them
suddenly. Wouldn't we wish this for ourselves?

I think that it might be a comfort to know that he did not suffer a long
and debilitating illness and that he lived a long and happy life, although
a piggy's days are never enough for us.

Eddie will miss his precious friend and, in my experience, boars seem to
feel a bereavement much more than a sow. I have no idea why this should be
but the bond between a pair of boars appears to be much stronger even than
that between sisters or a mother and daughter and I expect that he will be
visiting the rescue soon for a new companion. Not a replacement - never
that - but for a new friend to take away the loneliness.

We all send you the sincerest of condolences. R.I.P. dear little Agent
Peruke/ Agent Sheep - such fitting names for a sweet fluffy fellow.

With utmost sadness, love and hugs,

Penny and the Piggyfriends.
