Dear Joanie,

I am sending you our condolences on the loss of your amazing cat, Garfield.
Seventeen years is a whole generation and to think that he had been your
now adult children's companion. We all know that you did the right thing in
taking him to the vets  but don't we all hope that our beloved pets could
pass away peacefully in the home that they have known and loved.

Congratulations on having your book published. What an achievement! Good
luck with the sales.

Fish make lovely pets. I used to keep tropicals until I lived in a place
where there were constant power outages and had to sell the whole set up
but I had a big tank of goldfish for very many years until we were burgled
and, not only did the villains attack my beautiful dog but they killed my
fish and I never replaced them. The tank is now in my greenhouse where it
became a terrarium for raising plants from cuttings.

Our utmost sympathy to you all and love to Elizabeth and Puff.
