Its been ages since we posted. I'm finally caught up on reading the GPDD.
Summer is just such a busy time.

Many years ago, my mom used to buy corncob bedding in bulk for her bird
breeding business (parakeets and cockatiel). It was very cheap, odor-free,
and not very dusty. The downside is that because it's made from dried
corncob, its very hard - a lot like gravel and not so absorbent. So while
it worked pretty well for the bottom of bird cages, it would be very rough
on piggies feet, and would probably be poor at odor control. The other
downside was that occasionally a bird would think it was edible and fill up
on it. It's totally non-toxic but also without much food value.

That's the scoop on corncob bedding. For her parrot cages here at home she
uses Yesterday's News because its better at odor control. Her umbrella
cockatoo, Ducky, likes it better because she can throw it farther (hehe!).
