Lots of discussion resulted over the issue of Lisa breeding her guinea pigs.
I was interested to spot a New Zealander on the digest.  I just thought I
might also comment, though it's been a while (we were distracted by floods).
We don't have the problems here they have in the US, but my opinion is that
lots of NZ piggies live short sad lives on account of being left outside in
all weathers.  Dogs get quite a few, and others have hutches with wire
bottoms to save them from dogs but at risk to their feet.  Not all outside
piggies are not cared for, but your average family pet just gets chucked in
the back yard and that's that.  I've thought about preparing a leaflet about
keeping piggies inside as an alternative.  It's not usually done here.  What
do you think?
