Toni, I am so sorry to hear about Fred.  I have tears running from my eyes reading your story.  Especially him ringing his bell waiting for you to come, how terrible.  I feel so bad for you and him.  I cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss.  
Know Fred is now frolicking at Rainbow Bridge with his favorite treats and his friends waiting for you to join him someday.  He knew you loved him very much.  (((((HUGS)))))
