Sarah,
Almost all guinea pigs have a bald or partially bald
spot behind their ears. I have one that doesn't and it
looks a little odd to me, since all my others have
this bald patch. I have no idea what purpose it
serves; it's just another little quirk of these
wonderful little critters. I like to kiss my piggies
on the bald spot behind their ears : ) Even the Great 
Guinea Pig Guru, Peter Gurney, wrote in one of his
books that he was worried about the spot when he first
started getting into piggies, and started one on an
unnecessary course of antibiotics from an equally
uninformed vet! If the spot is only behind the ears,
and there are no other bald patches on the body, it is
most likely not ringworm.
