I am quite certain that I have read that rabbits and guinea pigs CAN catch 
colds from human beings. The common human cold is apparently a "zoonosis" , a 
disease which can be passed from human to animal or animal to human. Therefore 
it is very important to make sure you wash your hands well before handling your 
piggies and/or their food if you have a cold, and try not to breathe all over 
them.
