[Gpdd] [CARE] bedding and other stuff

Hey Slaves,

I love reading the digest every day.  Don't post too often but  I have a
question and some input about  things recently discussed.

First my question...how is it that there are replies to posts in the same
issue # but it's the first time I am seeing the original post ?  No biggie
but I'm always looking for new ways to do things.  Which leads me to my
input about bedding, etc.

I started out using CareFresh for my Fuzzy because, as a new piggie slave,
that's the advice the store gave me.  Since reading the gpdd and other
sources I've tried different options.  Fuzzy now has a supply of towels
(thank  you Leah and Brownie Bear!) and fleece bedding.  The fleece was
mentioned on another forum (I think Cavy Cages but don't quote me!).  It is
an investment ($14.99 for 2 yds.) but super absorbant and Fuzz LOVES to
popcorn on it.  So I pick up poo every few hours and sop up the pee if there
is any and I change the bedding every other day-unless it's really gross.
She has a small cage on the floor that is open all the time-that's the one I
need to change every day because she not only uses it for her main potty box
but when I bring her downstairs to spend the evenings w/us that's what she
is in.

She's got full run of one room upstairs during the day w/lots of little
places set up to potty and sleep.  I visit her quite often and will usually
spend on hour or so playing and napping with her.  She likes to cuddle next
to me under her special blanket which I prop up with a small pillow.  She
loves her tent when we nap.

And another little tidbit...she gives me kisses when I hold her too!  She
also tries to munch my hair.  Now that it's warming up here in Atlanta I've
taken to wearing it in a pony tail but here's her newest trick...she will
climb up to my shoulder and pretend she is going to give me kisses on my
cheek or neck.  Then the sly little piggie quickly reaches around to the
back and grabs a bit of my hair.  So I bring her back to my lap or chest and
scold her a bit.  Then she gives me make up kisses on my hand and starts all
over again, only this time she will give me real kisses next to my ear
before grabbing a bit of hair!  What a clever little pig!  She's just too
cute to be angry with.  Of course I don't let her get away with the
munching-human hair can't be good for them.  Plus I'm not into the punk
hairdo's with patches of it missing!!  Hee hee.

Ok-I'm done rambling.  Gotta run one of the dogs to the chiropractor...OH
THAT REMINDS ME...someone had a post about a piggie w/back troubles.  My
dogs chiropractor also does "pocket pets" as he calls them...perhaps you
could check in your area for a veterinarian chiropractor.  They are becoming
more and more popular.  I would NOT take them to a human one however.  I
know that should go without saying but then again McDonalds should not have
to put "Caution-Hot Liquid" on their coffee either!
