Hello Melissa

If you don't see any other symptoms, it is probably an
eye infection. You need to get some medicine from they
vet. The vet will give him eye drops and/or
antibiotics to get the infection under control. 
Some eye infections are caused by bacteria and some
are caused from an eye injury. He could have gotten an
injury from a stiff piece of hay.
