Hey Everyone...

Catching up on my digests again.. thinking about going to workout.. I have
a honest-to-goodness list of things I'd like to respond about... You'd
probably laugh, but I made notes as I went through the digests! ;)

Okay.. gotta start with the whole laptime part.. I'm trying something new..
Laptime in the cozy.. The Cavy Cozy is the best invention for guineas..
Great job CavyMadness!!! Brownie will give me about 5 minutes of laptime
normally and then he starts pulling on my shirt to let me know he's annoyed
and wants to go back in his cage.. He's poking his head out of his cozy
every now and then.. It's rather cute! This is how I'm going to get him out
of his cage because he runs from me like mad when I try to pick him up by
himself. I think the cozy pick up is less traumatic! :)

Honey's First Bean: Okay.. I'll totally back ya up on that one. Brownie
doesn't get diarreah, but he sometimes gets gassy and doesn't want to poo
after a cage cleaning. That first blessed poo is cause for jumping and
hollering here at our house. Brownie gets lots of pats on the head when he
sheds that first poo!!

Speaking of gassy piggies: If you get a gassy piggie, try using a drop or
two of infants Mylicon. Again, when Brownie gets gassy, he doesn't poo,
drink or eat cause his little tummy hurts from being bloated.. I usually
give him one drop to begin with and wait a while. Normally, about an hour
later he's at the water bottle and then hops right back into his hay bowl.

Someone mentioned taking their piggies to Petsmart: Admitting it right here,
proudly: I had my first guinea when I was in college. When it would be hot
outside in the summer, of course I had no air conditioning in the house I
was renting, I'd take Jo-Jo to Petsmart to see the other piggies and to cool
off! Everyone would be so surprised that I'd bring my guinea to the store.
He was so cute sitting in the kids part of the basket. I'd put a towel down
and he'd just squeak happily :)

Someone else mentioned their piggie wheeeking when they get up in the am:
Brownie knows when I'm up in the am. As soon as I turn on the light to the
family room that he's in he comes bounding out of his cozy to start to eat
and drink. They sure know when we get up. They've got us trained well :)

Stains on Piggies' Mouths: TRUE TRUE TRUE! I told this story a while back,
but sometimes I get little green dots on my walls behind his cage. I
couldn't figure out what it was until I stopped to think. Brownie LOVES
green peppers.. The peppers get down on his chin then he goes someplace in
his cage to "shake it off" of his chin and then it got on the walls!

Table Cloths for Floor Time: Another idea is the "Neat Sheet". I found mine
at Target when it first came out, but now they're even in the grocery
stores. I used it and it worked nicely, until I figured out that Brownie's
poo problem was that he got freaked out when he didn't have a "caged-like
bottom" under his feet aka Carefresh. Whenever I have him out of his cage
now, he's in a storage tub with Carefresh on the bottom, with his hay,
pellets, and waterbottle. That's where he is right now atm, because he let
me know that he had to potty! Sure enough when I put him down, he went!

The Cardinal Sin - Opening up the fridge: OMG, Brownie is hilarious! If he
hears me open up the fridge, rustle a bag, open up the silverware drawer,
move his "veggie bowl", or open up the cutting board drawer, he goes NUTS!
My hubby-to-be ignores it until he goes and commits "the sin" of opening up
the fridge. Brownie WHEEEEKKKKS until you give him what he wants. He's a
persistant little bugger, but I love him dearly! Brownie also knows the
sound when I pick up his "veggie dish" compared to his hay or pellet bowls.
His Auntie Corrine and buddy KC (RIP, KC) sent it to him. He also has his
"bankies" (blankets) that I put his veggie bowl under so when he puts food
down, it goes on the clean blanket and not the bedding. He goes CRAZY when
I touch either the bowl or the blanket. He sure knows!

Whitish Pee/Parsley: You might want to try cilantro. Cilantro doesn't have
as much calcium as parsley, and Brownie loves it the same..

Thank Goodness for Tex and Dale: Yes, thanks to these two guys and AOHELL
IM, I've gone through a few storms with Brownie with Tex and Dale. Both of
these guys have helped me tons and told me to CALM DOWN more times than I
can count! Tex, you're right about the hiccups. I wanted to have a heart
attack. He did look at me like "what the hell is wrong, Mom??" Whenever he
usually gets hiccups they're very small. That's why I freaked because these
hiccups where just taking over his whole body it seemed!

Okay.. went down the checklist and I've seemed to mention everything I
needed to! WHEW! Hope I didn't clog up the digest too much. If I don't
post before Turkey Day (USA), have a great one! Brownie will be going
upstairs in our bedroom to have some peace and quiet. Yes, it's another
thing I do to spoil him, but when he freaks out, he doesn't poo. and I just
don't like that and neither can he! Thanks for those who wrote to me
regarding his hiccups, I appreciate it. Also thanks to those who wrote to
tell me that there are some UNLAP pigs out there. Brownie's due for a bath
today, too. I have to run out and get more Carefresh to put him back into a
clean cage with a clean Cavy Cozy. Abbys sure do shed!
