Hi Misty, Muinea, Wuinea and Puinea,
These were probably "running lice." They can also be
treated with Advantage for kittens if the shampoo
doesn't work - see Guinea Lynx for more info. The good
thing is that these lice are species specific, which
means that they can't spread to you or your other
non-pig pets. The other good news is that they won't
survive for long when not on the animal itself, so
there's no need to burn everything your cavies have
ever owned! Haha.
