Ok, I have had enough of this topic. This topic of who wants kids and who doesn't has nothing to do with guinea pigs. And its borderline offensive. I know those who have posted keep saying "no offense" and "its ok for those who want kids" but I am finding this inappropriate conversation for this digest and I am starting to take offense even if it wasn't intended. The people on this digest are warm, caring pet owners that do love their pets to the point of children. But some of us can't wait to start our own families, or already share their love of GPs with their children, or are grieved because they cannot have children. Having conversations about how glad some people are that children are not in their family and reveling in that is fine, just not for this digest, its a topic for a digest for people who are happy without kids. This digest needs to be a place for all types of families, and for someone to aches to have children (when hubby is done with school), this topic is unintentionally hurtful. Again, I know this wasn't intended, but please let this topic stop. All family types are ok, and I sympathize with the previous posters, it is hard when family doesn't understand the love we invest in GPs, (my own parents are the same), but that doesn't mean we need to go off topic and discuss the why's and justifications for whether or not we want kids. Its not relevant to the fact that we all love and care for our GPs as best we can. We can share that love with each other even if we all have different values, goals, lifestyles, and personalities. Sorry if this post is found offensive, I just want this topic over with. Let us talk about GPs in our lives, and even laugh about our parents having GP grandchildren, but we don't need to brag about one life choice over another. If you feel the need to reply, please reply to my email, no need to keep this going in the digest.
