Hello out there to all piggies and their devoted parents.
Congratulations on all birthdays and new babies and to all piggies recovering from illness.

Had been a bit behind on my reading, but I would personally like to address something that Stacy Harvey wrote in GPDD #158 about whether she would feel the same about an adopted child. I am an adopted child and I have an adopted child who will be 13 this year and has been with us for 11 years. As far as I am concerned, my daughter was not born of my body but she is born in my heart and I love her as if she were my flesh and blood. My parents also loved me as if I were their biological child, my mum (now 88) has asked me in the past, what hospital she had me in!!!!

There is no right or wrong answer in whether or not to have children. It is a personal choice and we should respect those that don't wish to have children. My husband and I endured 7 years of fertility treatments and various poking and prodding until it was determined that we are in that wonderful gray 10% area where they don't know why we couldn't have kids. We decided to adopt and after 2 years our daughter came to us.

Our first fur baby came to us in 2000, because our daughter wanted a pet. She was a little young for the responsibility and subsequently Fluffy became my little boy. Fluffy went over the Rainbow Bridge in June of 2002 when he got caught in the recliner and broke his neck. Popcorn came to live with us in July of 2002 and has become my little boy once again. He watches my every move when I am in the den and loudly"WheeeeeeKS" when he feels he should get a treat, which is regualrly.

I love both of my "kids" and couldn't dream of living without either of them. Only your own heart can tell you whether or not it is big enough to hold all those you love. But trust me, your heart can always find room to love. So Stacy if you do decide to adopt, that's great but if not that's great too. We all have a purpose in life, sometimes we just have to let go and let God.

Blessings to all, regardless of the number of feet
