Sandi,

Red ears are caused by excess heat given off by the pig. They also give off body heat from their paws. Sometimes their ears and paws get really warm and their ears get really red. At least my pigs ears do depending on the color of the pig.

I have a short haired guinea pig and have noticed that sometimes his ears become bright red. He doesn't act abnormal during this time and isn't warm to the touch. Does anyone know what causes this?
