I also seen this episode and was very disappointed for in the fact that he gave this little girl 2 guinea pigs.  I hope he did give the mother and young girl lots of off--camera information.  
 
I agree most of his guinea pig segment was good, but I think he could have mentioned more about cage sizes and the importance of guinea pigs not being "good first pets" for children and it IS the parent's responsibility to make sure they have fresh food and water and all their needs looked after.
 
I think the fact that he was sitting in this enclosed circle with a bunch of guinea pigs and children would be misleading for most viewers.  He just made it seem guinea pigs were fun for children, like a toy.  Maybe I was just being too much of a critic yesterday and I was having a bad day PMSing and all.
