My large piggies, Guinness and Daisy would like to extend a paw in welcome
to the new members of the LAPS, Snickers and Checkers. Good to have you with
us!!

So sorry that Cheekie has an eye problem. What did he do to himself? I have
read of someone who successfully made a collar to prevent a piggy from
scratching at some sutures but I have never had to do this myself and I
would imagine that most piggies would be stressed out by the collar. I had
enough trouble keeping a sock on my dog and I think it would be even harder
with a piggy. Maybe someone has worked it out though.

I don't know what oinkments your vet has tried but I use Fucithalmic or
Chloramphenicol and Optrex is useful for clearing blocked tear ducts. My
Teazel managed to poke her eye on a haystalk last week when fleeing from the
noise of the fireworks factory explosion but once the stalk was removed she
did not scratch at her eye and probably didn't even know what she had done.
Luckily most eye injuries heal up very easily so hopefully Cheekie will soon
recover.

The Piggyfriends send their best wishes to Cheekie and hope that he will
soon be well.

Penny.
