Dear Anne

Sorry to hear little Maya isn't well. You could try a number of things:

* Cut up her normal salad feed into little bitty pieces to make it easier
for her to eat, offering each piece by hand if necessary; piggies will
usually eat blades of grass if they won't touch anything else

* Mix up some critical care into a just-about-runny paste with warm water
and syringe feed it to her (cut the tip off the syringe so it doesn't get
blocked with the fibres in the feed)

* If you don't have any critical care, get the little "logs" out of her
dry mix, and mix that with warm water instead (or the pellets if you use
an all-in-one feed) in to the same sort of consistency

* Add some vitamin C to water and syringe that to her (not in her water
bottle)

* Give her some bio-lapis (or even yogurt) at another time of day from the
baytril in order to restore the gut flora (not at the same time as the
antibiotic as they will cancel each other out)

* Keep her warm and dry, which may mean extra hay and bedding, or wrapping
her up in a blanket or towel, or wrapping a hot water bottle securing (so
she cannot get too hot) and place it so she can get near it for warmth if
she wants to but doesn't have to be near if whe doesn't want to be

* The Cambridge Cavy Trust say piggies can have a little Vicks Vapour Rub
to help if they have snuffly noses...you could try this, but they usually
hate it

Hope this is a help for little Maya.
Best wishes

Kay
