Hi!  Just wanted to let you know I have had a Holmes Air Purifier for about 6 years now and, from my experience, it's the best on the market.  I don't know if it's made in China or not but it does work.  Mine sits right next to and a little above The Lady Bug's cage so she gets the first of the filtered air and it also helps eliminate the smell of the Carefresh I use in her cage.  I have low ceilings so being that high up it has the added advantage of blowing the hot air that accumulates in Winter off the ceiling and into the room.
   
  The downside is that, depending on your conditions, it can be expensive to run.  The carbon pre-filters last me about 2 weeks and the hepa filters will last almost a year, but I live on the ground floor and our parking lot is gravel (lots of dust).  I have the 700 series which is 3 filters and I believe they make one with 4.
