You cant go wrong with a Honeywell Envirocare, they are extremely effective, last forever and do the job. In my opinions every piggy, rattie, and Bun household should have one and asthmatics or people with hay fever should have one in their bedroom as well. Honeywell is widely known and sold so they support their products with spare filters longer and they are more easily found.

Another reason the Ionic Breeze is inferior is because it just can't process enough air past its plates because it lacks a fan. Consumer reports did a nice article on these once. This type of filter placed last.

Regarding the piggy with mites, please get that piggie treated right away, her misery is unfathomable. Although a vet visit is by far preferable, you can buy the horse paste version in a tube at the farm feed store for about 8 bucks, feed piggy a ball that fits neatly on the end of a Q-tip, not a big glob. She will lick it off her lips and mouth if you just insert it into her mouth and scrape it into her cheeks. Repeat three time at 10 day to 2 week intervals. Then repeat three times a year or as symptoms arise. When I go to the vet I do not have him do a "scraping" as many times it will miss the problem, best course when parasites are suspected is to treat. The benefit of Ivomectin or Ivermectin, is that it kills internal parasites as well. Foe external parasites you can use Frontline, I would alternate around the calendar as pests can build up a tolerance, so I would alternate Ivermectin, Frontline and no treatment for three months and then repeat all year

The vet alternative is better for 2 reasons.
1. the dosage is more accurate
2. piggy gets a check up

Happy healing wheeks
Sandy
