Hey Slaves,
Wow, I feel stupid. There's an animal
shelter about 10 minutes away from
my house (and I pass it everyday
when I'm driving to & from work). Well,
I just assumed it was for dogs & cats
only (never assume anything). So,
Oxbow accidentally sent me bunny
food. Well, of course, it would cost
more money than it's worth to send it
back, so they said to just donate it to
a local shelter. So, I called the shelter
thinking that they wouldn't be able to
use it. But, the lady on the phone said
that they have some bunnies, guinea
pigs, a hamster, and some other little
critters. Wow.

So, needless to say, I had to dig deep
on the internet to find their site (their
website person really needs to make
it so their site comes up when people
use various search engines, but whatever).
I emailed the Volunteer coordinator (Linda)
and she called me today. So, I should
be getting an application in my email.
And I'm going to fill that out and go and
meet Linda sometime soon and drop
off the application & bunny food.

I told her that I was interested in the
exotic animal care and she was delighted
because they only have 2 people that
do those tasks right now.

The application process is pretty
extensive since their shelter is run
through the police department. But,
that's a good thing, so I can't really
complain.

I am very Excited because I will be in
a position to educate people about our
critters. I think if more people knew the
proper care that our exotic animals
really needed, then maybe we would
have less animals surrendered.

    Love 'n Wheeeeeeps,
                            BB, BS, and me :-)
