Dear Stefanie

I was told by Vedra at the Cambridge Cavy Trust that the wood of apple or
pear trees for guinea pigs is fine.

However, I do not know that the leaves of these trees are at all safe, and
would suggest you remove them all before allowing your guinea pigs near the
wood.

Also, if any of the wood looks diseased, or is quite old, this should not be
used.
