[Gpdd] [CARE] Courgettes and ..... lychees??

I grow courgettes in my garden, though many do sneak into marrows when I'm
not looking! I make chutney, marmelade, soup, curry, stir-fries, pasta sauces
... and still have far too many courgettes (or zucchinis, as our North
American and Australasian helpers call them)! I have offered them to the Dolly
Mixtures, but have to say, they are not a big hit - a little nibble here and
there for a taste or when they're desperate, but no enthusiasm at all! It's as
though they realise I have too many and they are nothing specially obtained for
them - not exotic enough!!
On the other hand .... someone has just given me some delicious natural,
still-in-their skins, lychees. This is something far too exotic and expensive
for me ever to have bought myself, but now they are here, I would love to try
them on the Dolly Mixtures. I love trying them on new foods - it is such fun to
watch their different reactions, and see the pleasure on their little faces
if they find I have given them a real treat!
Obviously I would remove the skins and stones before offering them to the
Dolly Mixtures, and I was thinking of giving them just half a fruit each - but
what do you all think? Are they safe to give piggies as a one-off treat? Has
anyone ever offered them, and if so, what was the reaction? Most of mine love
oranges, cherries, peaches and other sweet fruit, those these are only
offered as very rare treats because of the sugar content. I think they would adore
the lychees - but of course I don't want to poison anybody!!
I look forward to your responses - only make it soon, before they go off!
Debbie (with the Dozen Dolly Mixtures eagerly awaiting your responses!)
