Actually, Michael is somewhat more patient than I am. (I'm 'learning' though!) I doubt he gave the med 'wrong' to Blossom. It was just a shot in the dark for the vet to suggest that he 'burned' her throat when giving the med. Michael gave Blossom half the dose of the flagyl (to be on the safe side) last night (Saturday) and he stayed up with her to watch her. In less than an hour, she was again doing that 'choking' motion, opening her mouth wide. Unfortunately, I found some info on a website after he had given her the med, and I think it pertains to cats and dogs but still it said that some side effects of flagyl are: excessive salivation, gagging, among other things, and that's what Blossom was going through! I had suggested he try to keep her stomach full, so he syringed her critical care more often than he would have. He thinks it helped. This morning she seems better. So we're not giving the flagyl anymore. It was a big scare for us.
TWICE. So for now we'll just be giving the prednisone. The vet is off on Monday so we'll see if we can speak to the other vet (who's been treating Baby Truffles) on Monday.

Thanks to everyone who has been giving us much needed help and support!

Corrine and Michael
