Hello fellow Guinea pig lovers and guinea pigs,
Just want to introduce you to the newest member of the "misfits". Her name is Aubrey, sticking with the "A"s for all our girls. She is a sweet little thing. Has three colors on her. Brown face, white belly and orange/brown bottom. She was a drop off to our local teskes feed and seed store.. they had her in a cage with a roudy bunnie. she was there for sometime.. very nervous and scared.. Andy reached in and took her out.. she cuddle right into him and looked up at him with her big dark eyes.. My family think its all me bringing home the "babies" but honestly this was Andy again! he wouldn't put her down! carried her around the store as I got the things we needed.. We walked up to the counter to pay for the items I had and the counter boy didn't even notice the guinea pig in Andy's arms! So Andy said "and this little lady too!" the boys response was.."Finally getting rid of him!" Aww that was a horrible thing to say in that way...
he said " HE has been her forever!" well he didn't even know that she was a "she!"
I am sure they had rabbit food in there for her to eat also.. so sad.. she is in our holding cage for now.. her nails were so long they curled around.. she smelt like "rabbit" and she was extremely scared. we have been working with her a little at a time..
She was very good when I trimmed her nails..
She will take her place with Athena and Anastashia. This will be good as our Anastashia is a very very old gal... and little Athena just loves her so,but Anastashia is just to old to play the games with her. And this will give little Athena a playmate.. as little Athena is younger.
We didnt go looking for a guinea that day.. but I guess sometimes your put in a place that your ment to be.. and I do feel little Aubrey was ment to have her forever home with us:)
Just wanted to share in the good news. many healing wishes to all the guineas that are sick or not feeling well. and our deepest sympathies to all the families of guineas that have crossed the bridge. These little creatures are so full of love, a love that each of us truly understands on the digest.
Jean and Andy and the many misfits
