I am sorry to read about Maisie and her recurrent UTIs.

I am lucky that the Piggyfriends have suffered from this very infrequently
but I remember Aspen from many years ago failed to respond the vet's
antibiotic of choice in those days which was called Marbocyl. She constantly
passed blood too. As soon as one infection had cleared up, she developed
another one. In desperation, he switched to the old fashioned one -
Tribrissen, which cleared it all up once and for all.

I have also used the home made barley water remedy. It is fiddly to make but
well worth trying. The recipe is on Peter's page.

Now my Rodentologists recommend trying a human cystitis over the counter
remedy first ( at a reduced piggy rate of course ) and then go on to Septrin
oral antibiotic if this doesn't work.

Have you tried giving Maisie cranberry juice? Are you giving her Probiotics
between courses of antibiotics to put the good bacteria back?

I am pleased to read that she is eating well and hope that she is putting
the weight back on again as other illnesses can cause weight loss and don't
they lose the weight quickly when they are poorly?

Hugs for Maisie.

Penny and the Piggyfriends.

P.S. As always, I must mention that drug names may vary between our
countries.
