Hello everyone,
I am diligently catching up on the digests. I wish you all well. I am
confused about things I have heard. One is about Revolution.
The exotics vet said that Revolution does not kill internal parasites in
gunea pigs. It does kill external ones. The type that I got from the
exotic vet is for cats. The dose is a tiny dose (the specifics are on the
prescription I got--sorry--I don't have it in front of me) with a syringe of
the liquid Revolution; it is put on the back of the pig's neck near the
shoulder blades. It is NOT ORAL.
The dose is repeated in 30 days.

With all that has been going on with piggies and me lately, repeating the
dose has not happened yet. Oh and also the vet technician said to separate
them for a couple hours,as they may lick it off each other's necks! Geez, I
mean, I know that cat's do this, but i have never seen any of my four sows
groom each other. So are they going to start with Revolution??
I mean, really? sometimes i think in their best intentions, the vet
technicians/whomever see behaviour in one species and then decide that it
must happen in all species, so it is then compiled into a story that
gets...well, I think you get the idea. It becomes made up?
So how does anyone know whether Revolution does/does not treat internal
parasites, is my question. I have heard it works for the internals here.
Please let it be so.
