[Gpdd] MISC- carrot tops

Hi Jaime,

I have never tried to store carrot tops as I pull the carrots up, wash them
under the garden tap and, after a quick dry with a towel, they have been
devoured in moments by a dedicated team of piggies but I know that our
Rodentologists keep all manner of veggies, including carrots with tops, in
their fridge. If they do it, it must be OK.

Once the tops have been removed they do tend to wilt, don't they? I wonder,
if you were to trim the ends, would they keep in a jar of water like a bunch
of flowers. I haven't tried it as there is never any leaf to spare but it
might keep your tops fresh. I suppose it depends on how long they have been
adrift from the original carrot before you get them.

If left long enough, the tops will start to decompose as would any organic
matter but they won't heat up and ferment quickly like a box of grass.

Love to Mimi,

Penny and the Piggyfriends.
