Kristian,

I was unable to reply to your post yesterday as our server was down but I
would have given exactly the same advice that you have received from Ann
and Jaime. Stone, blockage or UTI are the best guesses but it is hard to
diagnose an illness by email. Hopefully he has seen the vet again by now.

It doesn't account for the blood in his urine, which could have another
cause but his teeth might need attention. Overgrown molars will make a
piggy go off his food. Their tongues can get trapped when the molars grow
over the top and, although they want to eat, they cannot manage it and have
to be syringe fed until they receive medical attention.

Syringe feeding any poorly piggy is vital to avoid gut stasis and pain
relief is needed. You need either Rimadyl from your vet and follow his
advice or you can buy children's liquid ibuprofen, in which the dose is
0.4ml twice a day.

I have had a 7 year old recover from an op.

Paws crossed for George. So sorry for the delay.

Let us all know how you both get on.

Penny and the Piggyfriends. ( piggy sanctuary in England )
