[Gpdd] ANNOUNCEMENT: Welcome Butterscotch "Scotchie"

Debra and The Story Piggies wish to welcome a new addition to their herd, Butterscotch aka "Scotchie".  We were definitely not expecting to add another piggy to the herd right now, but you know how that goes! LOL  We were in our local pet store and noticed a beautiful beige satin piggy with butterscotch colored markings up for adoption in there.  The people in the store said that he had been their for a long time and nobody ever wanted him.  He was an older pig, and everyone always seemed to buy one of the baby pet store pigs instead of adopting him.  I held him, and he was the nicest, cuddly piggy.  My heart just "melted" for him, and I could not leave him there any longer.  He came home with my husband and I to join our herd of boars.  Of course, we had to set up another cage in order to fit him in, much to my husband's consternation.  He did, however, accept it even though he wasn't real keen on the idea of being any more crowded than we already were.  I think he has really warmed up to Scotchie, however, since Scotchie is so very friendly.  Scotchie runs, like all piggies, when you try to catch him to pick him up.  After he has been picked up, however, he will sit and let you stroke him on your lap or on your chest forever.  He also lets you turn him over to pet his tummy.  He is a real sweetie.  I am so glad he is home with us instead of sitting in an aquarium in the pet store waiting to be adopted for who knows how much longer.  When he got home in his new cage and was introduced to hay, greens, etc., he ran around popcorning and making happy noises.  It just melted my heart once again to see that.  I am so happy we were able to give Butterscotch a forever home.  He is just a precious boy.  I have never had a satin piggy before.  His coat just shines, and he is so very attractive with his red eyes.  I just love my new boy, and I am sure he will be a very welcome addition to the Story Cavies.
