I have been wondering exactly the same thing as M.

I have seen worms expelled by a tortoise and they do look "wormy" whereas
maggots look like, well, maggots so they need identifying correctly.

I have never seen flystrike in a guinea pig and all the posters at the vets
are about preventing it in rabbits but, having Googled it, it appears that
this is possible.
