Hi. My friend in Orlando just rescued two piggies. One was a color combo that she hadn't seen before, black with silver tips. Her camera was broken, so I couldn't see what he looked like, so based on her description, I found photos on the web to see whether he was a silver agouti. It looks like, that's what he is. He's also very sick. The person she rescued him from knew that he was sick for a year and a half, and did nothing except for occasionally feeding him fruit when he got too sickly. He has a head tilt, runny eyes, and is very congested and underweight. The "girl" pig she rescued, who lived in the cage next to him turned out to be a boy too. He's a Dutch red and white chubby little boar, who loves attention, and seems to be doing well, except he also was breathing heavily. Both of them have a rough road ahead of them and a lot of antibiotics in their future before they can find a new home. The poor little guys didn't even have a pigloo to hide in at their first home. My friend said that they were so happy to get one yesterday. It was very exciting for them. It will most likely be a month or so before the two little piggies (no names yet) are ready for adoption, but if you know of anyone who has room for two more, please let me know.

In my search for finding pictures of different types of agouti's to show my friend, I ran into a post from Colorado Springs. Someone would like to sell his daughter's silver agouti guinea pig. The pictures of the poor little guy huddled up in an aquarium were so sad, I wish that I weren't so far away, or I'd go get him just to get him out of the fish tank. His picture can be seen here: http://cosprings.craigslist.org/pet/3023849469.html. If there's anyone in the western half of the US near Colorado who has room for one more, you might want to check on the webpage.

Best wishes,
