I have followed Peter's advice in the past and given brown bread and milk
to pregnant sows in their last trimester. I used evaporated milk diluted
one part to two for the sows and when the babes arrived, I continued to put
the dish of bread and milk in their pen, this time making the dilution one
part milk to three parts of water. This was particularly useful when Ginger
was with us as she had no milk for her babes that were born here but they
joined her at the dish and helped themselves along with her two older
babes. They all lived to be very old piggies.

Carla pink piggy is right about the water. Very few of the Piggyfriends
have ever drunk water. It is always available of course but of the current
herd only Susie and Sally take advantage of it so I have not become
involved in the reverse osmosis water debate. My lot are like wild piggies
and get all their requirements from the copious amounts of grass and forage
that they receive every day.

Everyone has their own way of feeding piggies and many of them are right.

Penny and the Piggyfriends.
