[Gpdd] Misc: have a question on a medicine

Hello ,
I have a quick question.
We had to use a different vet this time and for a ear infection she gave us sulfadiazine/trimethoprim.( Its white in color)   0.05 for our guinea pig that weighs  1pd 6 oz.   Our usually vet always gave us a pink medicine called sulfamethoxazole that was pink.
I questioned it and Dr said it was the same thing... just seeing if anyone here knows if it is.
Its for a very old gal that has a bad ear infection.
