Hi everyone,

When you read this message our new boar Stevie has probably been here for
whole month already! On the 23rd of June our girls Cookie en Linn picked
out a very handsome abyssinian boar named Stevie at the shelter.
It took us a while to find a new boar, due to corona restrictions we were
not allowed to be a part of the piggies' introductions and the shelter also
not not have a lot of single boars in the past half year. The latter is
probably a good thing 😉 With Linn having developed cataracts in both eyes,
thus having poor vision, being very feisty at times and coming from that
shelter, we were a bit afraid to not be at the introductions. I did not
want her to think she would go back there and if she would freak out it
probably would not matter who they tried with the girls she would not
accept anyone. Erwin also did not like not being there to comfort and keep
an eye on his Cookie (she's a daddy's girl). But we really liked the look
of Stevie and we were allowed to wait outside and take him home when the
experienced employees thought it would go well after their first
introductions. He came home with us and the introductions were fairly
uneventful. Linn took some time to really accept him, but mostly just made
a lot of noise when Stevie came near.
